Traveling to Churchill Manitoba last October was the culmination of a dream I have had for most of my adult life. The opportunity to marvel at the polar bears as they roamed free around the Tundra Buggy playing with each other and looking at us far exceeded my wildest expectations. There is no comparison between going to a zoo and watching the bears pace back and forth across their baron cage and being the one that is secured in one of Frontiers North's tundra buggies watching them roam free in their natural habitat where they have no enemies and nothing to be concerned about. When one, as many often do, stood on his (or her - I didn't ask) back feet and leaned up against the side of the tundra buggy and looked up at us staring back and clicking pictures in rapid succession we could feel the hot breath it was exhaling: literally eyeball to eyeball with one of the world's most magnificent creatures. Having traveled extensively to every continent throughout the last forty plus years no other memories are as vivid or stimulating as the memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Nothing I could write about this trip comes close to the feeling manifested in my heart surrounding this experience.
